How do I retrieve a database article that says interlibrary loan?

How do I request an item through ILLiad? May I borrow a book or article from another library through RCC?

Answer

In order to access an interlibrary loan article, you must submit an interlibary loan request. If you have never used interlibrary loan before, create an ILLiad account then log in and follow the link from the database to submit the request.

If you already have an ILLiad account, log in and submit the request.

You will receive an email once the article is available.

To avoid seeing ILL articles in your results list, limit your database search results to Full Text.

You may also request a book the RCC Library does not currently own (as long as it is not a required text for a class).

Interlibrary loan (ILL) offers patrons the opportunity to obtain books, journal articles and other material not available at the RCC library. There is no charge for this service. The appropriate forms must be completed for each request and the maximum number of requests for each patron is 5. Charges imposed for late or lost interlibrary loan materials are the responsibility of the patron. Public patrons, including alumni, must use the services of their local public library for interlibrary loan.
